Tamron’s 18-300mm Superzoom Lens Coming to Nikon Z and Canon RF Cameras

Tamron has officially announced the launch of its highly versatile 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD lens for Nikon Z and Canon RF APS-C mirrorless cameras. Previously available for Sony E and Fujifilm X mounts, this popular all-in-one superzoom lens will expand to these new systems starting summer 2025.

A True All-in-One Zoom Lens for APS-C Mirrorless Shooters

The Tamron 18-300mm lens boasts an impressive 16.6x zoom ratio, making it one of the most flexible options in its class. On APS-C cameras, it offers a 27-450mm equivalent focal range for Nikon Z and 28.8-480mm for Canon RF-S, giving photographers an ultra-wide to super-telephoto experience in a single lens.

Close-Up Capabilities with Fast, Quiet Autofocus

This lens isn’t just about reach—it’s great for close-ups too. With a minimum focusing distance of just 15cm at the wide end and a 1:2 maximum magnification ratio, it’s ideal for semi-macro photography.

Thanks to Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor, users can expect fast, accurate, and virtually silent autofocus. The built-in VC (Vibration Compensation) system also helps reduce camera shake for sharper handheld shots.

Canon RF Version Offers Enhanced Controls

Photographers using Canon’s RF-S mount will enjoy a few extra features. The Canon version of the lens includes dedicated physical switches for autofocus/manual focus control and VC on/off, giving users more direct control during shoots.
